After about a year of starting to re-learn the keyboard I am returning to the type of music I pursued years ago.
My current work is more "classical" in the sense that I am exploring music that is more structured and crafted rather than improvised. This will help me explore different traditional instruments, combinations of instruments, and interesting techniques.
These pieces are a compositional "toe in the water" to see how comfortable I can get with a more structured and crafted approach than I usually take.
Renaissance is a rebirth of a type of music I had very much focused on. One thing you might notice is that each of these pieces have a poignant quality. But it is not my intention to convey "sadness". Rather, the emotions are more about a mature re-engagement. A rebirth that brings with it lessons learned and maturity earned rather than simple naive newness.
